Lorne at Dawn

Excuse the blatently bad rhyming, I couldn't help myself.

So I thought I'd take advantage of a mild case of jetlag to test out the theory that dawn light is the best for taking photos - one that I haven't really examined too closely before due to my normally night-owlish pattern. I think I'll have to do more of this, as I can't say I was disappointed - I went reflection crazy. There's a LOT more of these, but I've limited it to my favourite three to save viewer boredom. I couldn't get the one directly below quite right - the composition seems a little skewed (hard to keep the horizon straight as well as line up the posts to the left of the frame) - but the reflection and vignetting in the water was so nice I thought I'd leave it in. On the other hand, I like how the top one came out so much it's my desktop background. Finally the last one - I kind of like how the gum trees look like they've got a white halo, and how it becomes apparent why only when you look at the reflection...

Thanks Megs for keeping me company at ridiculous-o'clock - after having had a whole lolly water to yourself the night before no less! :)

Oh, and thanks to the local ducks for doing such a great job on cleaning up the floor of our cabin.
